Job Description – Head Business Development

3F Oil Palm is in the business of Contract farming in Oil Palm in 6 states of India wherein it has a farmer base of over 20,000 farmers.

A Business Development Head position will entail the following job roles:

1.Enhancing Fintech/Agri Tech Offerings:

3F Oil Palm has been a pioneer in Agri-technology for farmers and has launched various products and services available to 3F Oil Palm farmers through a Farmer Mobile App. 3F Oil Palm is looking to expand its offering in farmer services as additional revenue stream and farmer relationship enhancement. Current services include e-commerce for Agri inputs and Agri equipment, financial services, and labor services. Future plan includes enhancement of financial services, transport services etc. Currently the app is for use exclusively for 3FOP Farmers.

  • Manage existing offering of products and services to farmers
  • Ideate and implement new services to be provided to farmers - eg equipment rental, irrigation equipment, transportation, etc.
  • Strengthen Financial Services offering to farmers - including Micro Lending.
  • Analyse and create Business Plans for new offerings in the app and subsequently create backend partnerships for new products and services to be introduced on the Mobile App
  • generate advertisements on the Mobile App
  • Increase visibility and farmer usage/ downloads of the Mobile App
  • Create Business Plan for buy back of other crop types
  • Launch of e-mandi
  • How to extend app to outside farmers (non Oil Palm)
  • How to extend app to other Oil Palm company farmers

2. Optimization of Core Business:

  • Cost reduction levers
  • OER (Oil Extraction Rate) improvement levers through efficiency enhancement in the factory
  • FFB (Fresh Fruit Bunches) quantity enhancement levers through adoption of best practices with the use of analytics.

3. B2C Own Edible Oil Brand:

3FOP is in the midst of setting up a Refinery as a forward integration in the value chain, to fulfil its mission of farm to fork. The end product of the refinery will be converted into 3FOP’s own brand of edible oil to be sold in rural areas.

4. Leverage Smart Farm software as additional business line:

To optimize its operations, 3FOP built a first-of-its kind tech platform for area audits and plot visits of all its oil palm plantations. Modules cover end to end life cycle of the farmer from creating farmer data sets of prospective farmers, to nursery sales, to crop maintenance visits logging to crop collection.

  • Pitch and sell Smart Farm to other Agri – companies
